On Sunday 22nd June, 3rd Timperley Cubs took to the water for a spot of canoeing. On the Sunny Sunday morning The Cubs met at 11th Sale Scout Hut and got kitted out in buoyancy aids. The cubs then had safety Training before entering their canoes to take on another adventure. The first lesson to learn was steering. This was most important to avoid other Boats and each other. Once confident of steering the Cubs headed down the Bridgewater canal to Brooklands where a game of clocks was played then the cubs headed back towards Sale. About halfway back the Cubs then accepted the challenge of paddling standing up which is not as easy as it sounds. After reaching the other end of Sale the Cubs played a game of canoeball which resulted in water fights breaking out. Once the game was over it was a race back to the start. Once back the Cubs helped get the canoes back to the Scout Hut.
Everyone had a great time and look forward to mor
e water sports in the future.
